Sk8LikeYou Podcast Episode 128: SK8LIKE NO BRAKES Special LIVE from Cortland

This episode is live from Cortland Roller Rink, co-hosted by Liz Brown of Rink Rat Chat. We’re talking everything you need to know about the 2nd Annual SK8LIKE NO BRAKES going down September 26 & 27 at Whitehall SKATEAWAY in the Lehigh Valley. Coming off the energy of the inaugural 2025 event that had skaters across the country talking, this year’s edition promises to raise the bar even further with two full nights of skating, music, and community. We dive into how the event came to be, the growing lineup of features being rolled out, and what makes this year’s SK8LIKE NO BRAKES a must-attend for the skate community. A big highlight of this conversation is the addition of Dance Skate workshops led by  @MorganWeske   a professional dancer, skater, and choreographer with 15 years of experience teaching skaters worldwide. We talk about what skaters can expect from both of her workshops and how her approach helps build confidence, creativity, technique, and flow on wheels. Register at https://danceskate.com/workshops/p/ewnbskateparty2026 I also took some time to talk to a Cortland local derby player, getting their perspective on the local skate scene, as well as the Manager of Cortland Roller Rink, Shannon Hudspeth, about some exciting new things happening there and what it takes to keep a rink thriving. It’s a jam-packed episode full of event details, rink culture, and real conversations straight from the floor.  #SK8LIKEYOU #Sk8LikeYouPodcast #SK8LIKENOBRAKES #WhitehallSkateaway #LehighValley #DanceSkate #MorganWeske #RollerSkating #RollerDerby #CortlandRollerRink #RinkRatChat #RollerSkateCulture #SkateCommunity #WeAreTheConversation #VoicesAmplified #SkatePodcast
