Have you ever had so much to do that you somehow end up doing…nothing? Sometimes what looks like laziness isn’t laziness at all - it’s overwhelm. After returning from international travel, battling a seven-hour time difference, jumping back into work, and staring at a desk and to-do list that seemed to have multiplied while I was gone, I found myself feeling completely stuck. Then I came across a quote from Jules Renard: “Laziness is nothing more than the habit of resting before you get tired.” It made me laugh—but it also made me think! It was in front of me for a reason! In this episode of Fuller Expectations , we’re talking about the difference between being lazy, genuinely needing rest, and simply being overwhelmed by everything demanding our attention. I’ll share a philosophy I’ve used with my teams for years: do what you should do today, then get up tomorrow and do it again. You don’t have to conquer the entire mountain at once. We’ll talk about breaking intimidating goals and endless to-do lists into manageable steps, choosing what actually matters today, creating momentum when you feel frozen, and giving yourself permission to rest when rest is what you truly need. Because progress doesn’t always come from giant leaps. Sometimes it’s one email, one phone call, one workout, one cleared-off corner of the desk - or one small decision to begin. You don’t have to do everything today. You just have to do today!
