#365 Biblical Forgiveness Isn’t What You’ve Been Told | Teasi Cannon

Is “forgive and forget” actually biblical — or a modern therapeutic idea Christians have absorbed without realizing it? In this episode, I sit down with Teasi Cannon to challenge one of the most widely accepted assumptions in church culture: that forgiveness is primarily about personal emotional freedom. We unpack the biblical pattern of forgiveness as something tied to repentance, truth, and real relational restoration — not merely an internal process of releasing bad feelings. The conversation tackles hard questions many believers wrestle with: What about unrepentant offenders? Does healing require forgiveness? How should Christians think about reconciliation after abuse or spiritual harm? This episode exposes how a feelings-centered model of forgiveness became dominant and why redefining forgiveness matters for the gospel itself. If you’ve ever felt confused, pressured, or spiritually burdened by popular teachings on forgiveness, this discussion offers a framework designed to bring clarity and biblical precision. ------------------------------------------------------------------ This video is sponsored by: SEVEN WEEKS COFFEE Taste the Coffee that is Saving Lives.
