Vinny Appice & Jesse James Dupree

Legendary drummer Vinny Appice catches up with Eddie Trunk to discuss the new Heaven & Hell box set 'Breaking Out of Heaven,' which documents the band's 2007-2009 era. Vinny shares insights about his preference for single-bass drum playing despite pressure to expand his kit, and reflects on his work with Black Sabbath across multiple incarnations. He discusses the differences between recording 'The Devil You Know' versus earlier albums, his current Sabbath Knights project performing classic material, and updates on Last in Line. The conversation takes a delightful turn when Vinny recounts the famous story of his mother making lasagna for John Lennon—and her subsequent concern about getting her sacred pan back. After that, Jesse James Dupree joins Eddie Trunk to share exciting news about Jackyl's addition to the Mountain Music Festival lineup in Gatlinburg this August. He discusses their upcoming performances at Daytona Bike Week, Sturgis, and various West Coast venues, some alongside Buckcherry. Jesse also talks about making music with his son Nigel, his collaboration with AC/DC's Brian Johnson, and updates on his Jesse James bourbon line, including a new 90-proof Tennessee whiskey.
