First, the plaintiff let her neighbor borrow a special and exclusive edition of Essence magazine. She says the defendant lost it and now owes her for it. She claims the defendant has threatened her, so she’s suing for the cost of the magazine and threatening bodily harm. The defendant argues she had to move out to repaint her apartment, and it must have gotten lost during that. The defendant says the plaintiff left trash in front of her door. She doesn’t get why the plaintiff is suing her for so much money for a $3 magazine. She’s countersuing for aggravation and harassment. Then, the plaintiff brings his ex-girlfriend to court. He says the defendant, who doesn’t have a license, stole his truck and totaled it. He also claims the defendant hacked his email and sent a threatening letter, causing him to get arrested. The plaintiff is suing for the cost of the truck. The defendant argues the truck was hers, so she doesn’t owe him. Plus, the plaintiff and defendant used to be close friends. She registered a car in her name for the defendant, but then he started racking up parking tickets, so she’s suing for what she’s owed.
