Episode description as stored
The author Tomi Adeyemi rose to fame with Children of Blood and Bone , the first novel in her popular young adult fantasy series based on the Yoruba religion. That book is the subject of a long-awaited Hollywood adaptation set to come out in January. Now, Adeyemi is out with a new book called The Siren , which is set on a college campus. In today’s episode, the author joins NPR’s Andrew Limbong for a conversation about setting her new book in the real world, the difficulty she faced while working on the Children of Blood and Bone film and her relationship with social media.
